About BrainBuzz

BrainBuzz is a party game you play on a TV, with everyone joining from their own phone. It exists for one reason: to make a great game night easy to start. No printed answer sheets, no app for anyone to install, and no evening spent writing questions.

Our mission

We think the best nights in are the ones where everyone in the room is playing together, laughing at the same screen and arguing about the same answer. Trivia and puzzles are one of the oldest ways to do that, but running a good quiz has always taken real work. BrainBuzz takes that work away, so the host can enjoy the night too, whether they are running a family gathering, a party, an office event or a classroom.

Who builds it

BrainBuzz is built and run by Tejas, an independent developer in New Jersey. It started as a way to run better trivia nights for friends and family, and grew from there as teachers, party hosts and quiz fans started using it. Every feature on the site came from watching real games being played and fixing what got in the way.

BrainBuzz is independent. It is not affiliated with any television show or game company.

What makes it different

• Three games in one. A TV-style trivia board for teams, a live quiz where everyone answers on their own phone, and fourteen short brain games. You choose the one that fits the room.
• Nothing to install. Players join in any web browser with a four-letter code. Only the host needs an account.
• Any topic, in about a minute. Type a topic and the AI writes a full board, then runs a fact-check pass over it before you see it. You can read and edit every question before the game starts.
• Built from your own material. Teachers can upload lesson notes as a text file and get a board written from what is actually in them.
• Puzzles that are always right. Eleven of the fourteen brain games generate their puzzles from their own rules, with no AI involved, so every puzzle is solvable and every answer is correct.
• For everyone. Up to 40 players in a room, English and Spanish, a take-turns mode for younger or slower players, and a play-on-one-screen option for when there is no TV.

How the content is made

Boards come from three places. Some are written by hand. Some are generated by AI when a host types a topic: the board goes through a separate fact-checking pass, and both the topic and the finished board are screened for inappropriate content. And some are published by hosts to the shared gallery, where every submission is read by a person before it goes public. Anyone can report a problem with a board through the contact page, and we fix or remove it.

How BrainBuzz is funded

Hosting and playing are free. When the host is on a free account, ads appear on the website's public pages and on the TV screen, but never on the players' phones.
